Breakfast is included in the tariff and is served each morning in the Dining Room on the ground floor of the house.
Choose from a full American or Indian breakfast, served in collectible china with beautifully maintained antique silverware. Fresh homemade bread, jams and preserves, seasonal fruit, eggs and other locally sourced ingredients, many from our own garden, are all part of the Sunnymead breakfast table.
Sunnymead does not serve lunch or dinner. Guests are welcome to order from the excellent selection of local restaurants available through food delivery services such as Zomato. A nominal service charge of Rs. 200/- per person applies to outsourced meals served at the house.
Whether prepared in house or ordered from a local restaurant, all meals are served in the dining areas. As Sunnymead is a historic family home with antique furnishings and carpets, all food must be consumed in these areas. No food may be taken to or consumed in the guest bedrooms under any circumstances.
Payment for all extras, including the service charge for meals ordered from local restaurants, must be made prior to the time of checkout.
We do not provide room service.
We do not serve alcohol, although guests are welcome to bring their own.
The Dining Room is located on the ground floor of the house and opens onto a small verandah and the front garden. The food offered is both Indian and European, served in exquisite collectible china with old, beautifully maintained silverware.
Meals largely use locally sourced ingredients including home grown fruit and vegetables, fresh home-baked bread, marmalade and eggs.
Sunnymead houses an eclectic collection of books scattered throughout the house, and guests are welcome to borrow them for the duration of their stay. The shelves range from novellas published in the 1920s to the latest in escapist fiction, with plenty of more serious reading for those inclined towards books of an “improving nature”.
There is also a television in the sitting room with cable, Netflix and Prime Video for those who prefer a quiet evening in. Though, if we’re being honest, most guests seem to gravitate towards a comfortable chair, a good book and a view of the garden and the mountains.
Guest laundry is outsourced and is charged additionally.
Sunnymead is happy to offer travel advice, assist with travel arrangements and bookings, make reservations at restaurants and coordinate informed guided tours of the city. All these arrangements are outsourced.
Parking for a maximum of two cars is available in our private car park. Should guests chose to avail this facility, car keys may be deposited at the house so as not to inconvenience other guests and block passage.
Bespoke packed meals and picnic hampers are available on request. We would be delighted to customize a delicious tiffin for you.
